Concrete Driveways

Tear-out, grade, base and pour. Proper thickness, control joints where they belong, and an apron that meets the street clean.

A driveway is the largest slab most homeowners will ever buy, and it is the one that shows every shortcut. Cracking, settling and standing water almost always trace back to the base — not the concrete. That is where we spend the time.

We strip the old surface, cut the subgrade to a consistent depth, bring in clean granular fill and compact it in lifts. Only then does concrete get ordered. Thickness is matched to what you actually park on it: standard passenger drives, RV and boat pads, or a heavier section where a work truck turns.

Finish is a broom texture for traction through a Minnesota winter, with a clean tooled or saw-cut joint pattern that puts the inevitable movement where you will not notice it.

What does a concrete driveway cost? It comes down to square footage, how much old concrete has to come out, thickness, and access for trucks — which is why we measure on site and put a real number in writing. And if you are weighing asphalt versus concrete, here is the short version: asphalt is cheaper up front but needs resealing every few years and usually a full replacement within 15 to 20; a concrete driveway costs more on day one and routinely serves 30 years or more with almost no upkeep. We will give you the honest comparison for your specific drive, not a sales pitch.
