Patios & Slabs

A patio is an outdoor room, and it should be laid out like one. We start with how you plan to use the space — table and chairs, grill run, fire pit, hot tub — and size the pour around real furniture, not a round number.

Slabs for garages, sheds and shops get thickened edges and, where equipment or vehicles are involved, reinforcement sized to the load. Drainage gets planned before a form board goes down so meltwater runs off instead of sitting against the building.

Curves are welcome. A radiused patio edge costs a little more in forming and looks dramatically better than a plain rectangle bolted to the back of the house.

Concrete patio installation is our most-requested backyard project, and the design questions come up early: how big, what finish, where the grill sits, how it ties into the lawn. We talk through patio design and cost in the same first visit — a basic broom-finished patio, an exposed-aggregate surface, or something stamped and custom all get a straight written price before anyone digs.
